Cadence: A cool running App

ad_250sq_

So you have a shed load of good tunes on your iPod (including AudioFuel!) and you want a nice run, running to the beat of course at a steady 165 BPM.

Here is one way of running to the beat with a clever App from
Cadence.

If you have an iPhone or iPod touch, it could be the best $2.99 you ever spent.

Tree-Athlon 2009

This weekend was the Tree-Athlon 5k race in Battersea Park.

Clare and Jen were in top form with finishing times of 26’ and 30’ respectively, of course both were AudioFuelled!

Interval Training: Test Pilots Wanted

AudioDuel-Interval-Trial

This week, we got an e-mail from Chris, it said:

I have a question about building a custom set. When I run 800 meter repeats I aim for a 4:30 pace. I start slow and gradually accelerate every 200 meters until I am sprinting the last hundred meters. I would be interested in shorter segments to match my increases. Any ideas?

Thanks
Chris

So we put our thinking caps on a made a 5 minute track with the following vital statistics:

Interval-stas

The idea is to run 800m in 5 mins, gradually building in pace, from 155 BPM to 175 BPM.

Take a short rest and repeat.

Chris is aiming to do 10 of these laps per session as part of her training for the Amsterdam Marathon in October.

It’s going to be tested this weekend, if you’d like to trial it and give us some feedback, drop Sean an
email.

If you have a training product that you’d like us to build, just
ask.

Music holds the key to working out successfully

pasted-graphic-1

Runner-Times

by Alexander James in the Times

“The record label audiofuel.co.uk is pioneering a service in which fitness fanatics can download compilations specially composed as a workout routine. One of its composers is Howie Saunders, who has written music for films such as The Matrix and Charlie’s Angels. “There have always been fitness music compilations, but we compose ours from scratch,” Saunders says. “Music that’s good to run to usually has 150 bpm, but that can be too hardcore for some because it’s usually music such as drum and bass or techno. The challenge is to compose music that is palatable and fits the rate.”
